As we conclude this enlightening conference, we reflect on the profound insights and discussions that have transpired over the past days. Our collective exploration of the role of imperialism in shaping the crises of overproduction, financial instability, trade wars, and environmental degradation has been both comprehensive and eye-opening.
The talks given by our guest speakers and the papers presented have shown us how imperialism’s overproduction has inflicted an intense and far-reaching impact on various facets of society, exacerbating problems such as unemployment, underemployment, and job insecurity. We have reached a common understanding of how the imperialist system has played a pivotal role in precipitating acute financial crises and trade wars, casting a shadow over the global economic landscape. The overarching financial structure, marred by the influence of powerful financial oligarchies, has witnessed a worrisome consolidation of monopoly control over entire economies.
Our speakers, the panelists and the participants have enlightened us on how flashpoints emerged, triggering new financial and monetary crises exposing the vulnerabilities inherent in the current system, how the climate and environmental crises we face today are exacerbated by the relentless pursuit of super profits within the framework of monopoly capitalism.
We’ve learnt that the incessant onslaught of financial meltdowns, trade conflicts, and ecological catastrophes is intricately woven into the fabric of imperialistic oppression, perpetuating a vicious cycle of exploitation and devastation. These crises, unleashed by the insatiable greed of the ruling elite, ruthlessly ravage the working class, decimating livelihoods, plundering wages, and condemning millions to destitution. Within this imperialist dystopia, the repercussions of economic collapse and trade warfare cascade across borders like a tidal wave of destruction, reshaping the geopolitical landscape and perpetuating the hegemonic stranglehold of the ruling class.
In conclusion, we hope that this conference ignites and invigorates a fervent revolution against the shackles of imperialist oppression in the 21st century. We must articulate a harmony of strong revolutionary voices, challenging the status quo and tearing down the walls of injustice. As we disperse to our respective battlegrounds, let us wield the weapons of knowledge and solidarity forged in this crucible of resistance. Together, we shall sow the seeds of a world where justice, equality, and sustainability reign supreme. Your contribution in this intellectual upsurge is duly noted, comrades, and may our unyielding dedication to the cause propel us towards glorious victory.
Before we close this theoretical conference, we thank all of you for continuing to support the conferences and events of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines. On April 24, 2024 is the 51st founding anniversary of the NDFP and the 4th birthday of the Friends of the Filipino People in Struggle, Friends of the NDF or FFPS. We invite you to join these celebrations.
In May, the FFPS with the International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL) are organizing an International People’s Tribunal entitled Katarungan: The Filipino People vs. The US Government and the Marcos and Duterte Regimes – an international war crimes tribunal on the US-directed Counterrevolutionary War in the Philippines.
We will also hold the third international theoretical conference on semifeudalism in October of this year. We hope to see you again then.
Again, we thank all of you for your full-hearted participation in this conference.
Onwards, fellow warriors, onwards to the frontlines of change!
